I live in Texas southeast of Dallas. I like to try new things in the garden. Last spring it was a Vegetable garden and an herb garden both did well. In the fall I decided a bulb garden would be fun and its coming up now, Im looking forward to it blooming.

This spring I am starting a Tropicalesque garden in a corner of our yard. The only restriction is that Im not allowing myself to spend very much money on the project. So you could say Im doing "Tropicals on the cheap". Im going to record everything with lots photos and info on a web site; it should be lots of fun and a challenge. By the way any contributions or trades will be appreciated. Id also appreciate ideas, suggestions, and comments. Needless to say Im looking for Bananas, Cannas, Elephant Ears, Ginger, Hibiscus, Palms, Bougainvillea. Basically anything that would fit in the garden.
