I'm a tropical and exotic enthusiast on beautiful Galveston Island, "near Texas." Although my "gardening addiction" is somewhat limited because I live in a loft in a historic building and therefore have no yard, you'd be surprised what can be accomplished on the roof and decks of a building when you're really determined! The people in the other loft in our building smile and nod at me a lot, but I'm sure they talk about "that crazy lady with the plants" when I can't hear them. ;-)

My husband's "politically incorrect" newspaper's office occupies the retail space on the first floor of the building we live in, and it looks like a jungle in there because I put plants that can tolerate indoor conditions down there to show them off (I just can't resist!). I think he's wondering when his office will turn into a "little shop of horrors" complete with menacing greenery....
