I've only been gardening for 3 years, but have been dreaming about it for many more! We lived in an apartment for many years and I used to drive around looking at other people's landscaping and gardens, longing for the day when I'd have my own.

Now I have 4 young children and a small suburban yard. I'm gradually ripping up grass and planting more plants. Most of my yard is in the shade. I love shade and my big, old maple tree.

I picked "tulip lover" as my name because my husband proposed to me in a tulip garden at MSU. Tulips have held a special place in my heart ever since.
