Navy retired - 20y. On & off gardener during lifetime - Recently on again. Primary interest are Hostas and other shade plants that go with them. I live on top of a chert ridge, my yard grows trees & rocks. It takes tremendous effort to dig a hole in my yard because of tree roots and rocks. I�ve switched to raised beds.
