I am a compulsive gardener and plant collector, living in the cool tropics zone of Dublin Ireland, where you can grow alpines beneath palms and eucalyptus, outdoor epiphytes, a wide range of cacti and succulents,....pretty much up to your imagination as long as you can cope with minimums of about -2C to -5C a few times a winter. I am always experimenting. My small city garden is one of the most bio-diverse patches in the region.

I work in the field of sustainable education (at Cultivate Centre, an urban oasis), and am trying to get Dubliners to learn to love trees, put in roof gardens, and reclaim space for community gardens. I am very concerned about climate change (hey, I grow trees---I think in LONG cycles), and am certain we are asking all the wrong questions. Happy to talk about that to anyone who shares my concerns. Oh, I am also a horti-activist. I think that individually we can and do impact this green world we share, but collectively we can turn things around and set them right...........if we hurry.

I live in: Ireland

My zone is: 8/9 Ireland

My favorite forum 1 is Seed Exchange.

My favorite forum 2 is Sustaining Our Environment.
