I'm a vintage clothing seller and but enthusiastic gardener in Chicago. I'm interested in budget gardening, seed saving, winter sowing, organic techniques, garden design, and a wide range of annuals, perennials, roses, shrubs, bulbs and vegetables.

My garden is a major work in progress... I grow as many tomatoes as I can fit into my small raised beds and containers, tons of spring bulbs, 14 roses (English roses and Old Garden varieties), some perennials and flowering shrubs, and a very large and untidy grape arbor - all in a tiny Chicago yard that someday will hopefully qualify for the term "jewel box" but right now is mostly just a mess.
It may take me a few years to get it all together - especially on a tight budget and with a very wide range of interests - but I'm determined to have fun trying!

This year the focus is on an evening fragrance garden, but there's plenty afoot. I'm open to lots of sorts of trades. I'm a darn good baker - and I WILL BAKE FOR YOU if you have a special trade! Just ask.

When I'm not gardening, I'm busy working on my vintage clothing eBay store (eBay id: tropicanarama), treasure hunting at garage and estate sales, cooking, canning, sewing, doing various art projects, or working on our DIY kitchen remodel. I live with a very tolerant husband and three cats in a charming (read: dilapidated) two-flat on Chicago's Northwest side.
