Hi! It s been a while since I visited...I didn t see the login at first, so tried to "join" again...but alas...someone already had the name "treehugger." But, of course, it s me!
Great to be back with you all...spring is so wonderful...I don t ever want it to end...
Our area of Arkansas is growing very fast and there is destruction of old properties and the building of new ones everywhere you look...I wrote this in a letter to the editor last year, but no one replied...but so many homes, old farms and vacant land is being torn up....why can t someone, some organization, attempt to save the plants...one whole older subdivision was taken down for our first "skyscraper" can you imagine all the plants, bulbs, shrubs, etc. that someone could have used, or taken cuttings from...that were destroyed? Many times old farm land and homesteads can have heirloom varieties of plants that aren t available anymore....but as far as I know, nobody around here seems to be interested in saving them. I think that s too bad.
