Eventually i would like to create a garden that is my sanctuary. food is my other hobbie (yes eating is a hobbie), so plants that are edible have to be among my favourite things.

Infact, the reason i found this wonderous site was because i was surfing to find out if a plant i bought was also known by Japanese gardeners and cooks as shiso. You people answered that, Magilla Perilla, aka Japanese basil, must be the same thing.

my gardening partner-in-crime is my mom who gives me all of her cuttings, seedlings and advice, etc., along with those of her network of gardening friends. This makes for quite a resource of info, but they don't know everything, (don't tell them that) so i'm glad i've found this site.
