Well, I first got bitten by the garden bug when I was about 5. My grandparents have a huge rock garden behind their house and would ask me to help them in the garden on the weekends - planting, seeding, weeding, dividing etc. They really are master gardeners.

My Dad is also a retired vegtable grower and landscaper as well.
He's won many a Fireman's Fair 1st place ribbons for his squash, cabbage, and other veggies.

I started being heavily envolved with plants after I moved into a new apartment in college and found a dying christmas cactus. I nursed that little sprig back to health and is now about 2 feet wide, almost as high, and blooms like clockwork around the winter holidays.

From there, I've started my own outdoor vegatble garden.
I accidently obtained a Yellow Pear Tomato plant from a local nursery. After some heavy research on Heirlooms, I officially got started with heirloom Tomatoes the following year. Now I grow over 12 heirloom varieties, of course with the help of trades through GW Members.

Also about 3 years ago, I expanded into potted trees and started the Art of Bonsai, which is ultimately how I found Garden-Web. I do have to thank Brent Walston for that!

I've found GW is the best way to learn about all gardening issues or thoughts that arrive through the growing seasons.

I really have to thank everyone thats answered my questions and gave me seeds along the way. Thanks !
