I have been an avid gardener and most especially a lover of bonsai for most of my fifty years. Only recently (2004) have I begun to seriously educate myself regarding growing and developing bonsai. The USDA zone for my location (Brookdale, CA) is officially Zone 9 although I suspect it is more like Zone 10A or 10B. Currently I am developing a variety of maples but am also very interested in Pines. I am hoping to use the bonsai forum to learn more about pines - including what might be compatible with my garden location! Regards - Tim
