A librarian from southern Louisiana, I was born and reared in this state, but am not a Cajun. (My sister is married to one--not at all the steotypical version--very intellectual and somewhat reserved, but personable as most are.) He often meets people who share plants for my sister and me.
My staff and many patrons share seeds, plants, food, recipes, books and much more. I would love to find someone on Garden Web who would share heritage plants and seeds with me so I could delight these generous people with new and unusual items.
We love violets, flowering shrubs which birds love, roses, flowering vines of all sorts, terrarium plants and carvivorous plants. (They grew in central Louisiana where I was reared and we had no idea that the literature about them said some species only existed in the Carolinas! I wish we had collected them from beside the spring behind the farm because a land company obliterated them while I was in college.)
Actually we would be interested in any kind of seeds, seedlings, trees, etc. Thanks. Eunice
