I’ve been gardening for over 20 years but the moment I got my own computer and found gardenweb, I entered the field of "continued education" and not just in gardening. My newest challenge is trying to learn photography using a digital camera. As a Master Gardener, I am committed to "learn one - teach one" and sharing what I grow. I try to step gently upon this earth and respect all of its inhabitants. Our property (1 1/3 acres) is Backyard Wildlife Habitat # 12197 (certified by the National Wildlife Federation). It is ’guarded’ by Dachshunds Hummie and Grendel, my companions in the garden. My husband is a total non-gardener but very supportive. Our twin sons are married and we have four grandchildren. Our property is called Twin Oaks in honor of our sons and, yes, there are two oaks on the front lawn.
As a member of three garden clubs, I used to do flowershows (horticulture and design). I still arrange flowers but much prefer to propagate these days.
There are three gardeners: me, myself, and I and we get cranky when we can’t dig in the dirt but there are always ’smiles’ on the Soil Forum, expertise on the Computer Help Forum; one can drop in on the Europeans or the Australians; learn how to fix a faucet........and on and on. Gee, I wish it would rain soon!
I live in: United States
