I'm a semi-retired Passion Fruit grower turned tropical fish breeder. We live on the tropic of Capricorn about one hours drive far from the coral sea and the Great Barrier Reef. There are a couple of acres of scrub to play with around the house. We are beside a creek that floods occasionally. Currently I'm trying to establish a park like area with large trees 'some leguminous' in order to provide protection from the harsh summer sun and the occasional frost during winter. Our idea is to creat a micro climate in which we can grow some exotic tropical fruit trees like Carambolas, Jaboticabas, Abiu etc. We currently have producing Grumichama, Tamarillo, Monstera, Mango and Paw-Paw (Papaya).
