Here in the San Jose, CA area I've raised tomatoes in pots successfully for years; this year in a new house I have a huge garden and put in about 12 plants (indeterminates of various types) and was so excited to see them grow HUGE and now June 19, they'd been turning ripe. However, about 1/2 of them have now been killed by what I've learned here on Garden Web must be the dreaded 'pocket gopher'. They have chewed the plant off at the base from it's roots!! It just kills me to see these gorgeous healthy huge plants killed this way so, I'm looking for a solution. Guns away!! Any hints, please contact me, I'm going to try everything I've read in the forum here to stop them.
