I'm a transplanted Tenn native now a desert lover for 35 years. I currently live in Mesa Arizona (the valley of the sun)

My husband and I are retired and gardening is my primary hobby. I've gone a circular route. I started planting trees and vegatable gardens when I first moved here in '73. Then work and family intruded on my time so I focused on shrubs and flowers. Now I'm back to Trees, shrubs, working to create a microclimate from scratch.

I've successfully created microclimates to allow flowers to thrive in spite of the intense heat. Lots of trial and error and fun the whole time.

We just moved to Mesa, from Phoenix, so I'm starting gardens all over again. All that is currently here is Bermuda and weeds. I have my work cut out for me.
