i am a garden writer and hands on gardener. i am working on my second garden/landscape from scratch with few resources, which i find challenging. my husband grows vegetables and fruits, i focus on flowers, herbs, roses. he prefers old fashioned flowers...poppies, bachelor buttons, daisies of all sorts....and i try to accommodate him as well as my curiosity about many other plants. i am not a plant collector nor a plantaholic but i have friends who are. i am primarily interested in creating a beautiful landscape in which to live and work. our gardens are an integral part of an small operation that includes a few cows, chickens, turkeys, etc. so we tend to work outside a lot.
