I have a house on an acre of land that was bulldozed flat during construction. The builder planted straggly grass on solid red clay (no topsoil). I am starting to restore native plants on my acre, especially plants that feed or shelter wildlife. I have converted most of my front lawn from grass to natural areas. I've been reading all I can find about organic gardening, native plants and wildlife, and hopefully I will someday have a thriving little ecosystem around my house!
