Building a house in 2006, basic concepts are: design around the garden, dramatic lakeviews, indoors meets outdoors, balance of totally open and totally private spaces, TKO.

Gardens made up of several spaces: balcony garden and greening, deck garden with greening, private Japanese tsubo niwa in back, entrance courtyard garden with wax tree, English style garden at patio, approach garden that climbs stairs from car parking to main level. Also considering pond and fountain system to meander through the whole length of the property and spill right down alongside/through the stairs (haven't got that one worked out yet).
