I was hooked on gardening at age 5 when I grew my first pumpkin from seed. I always tried to plant something new each year in my fathers garden. After too many years in rental places trying to grow things in pots and barrels (shades of "Green Acres"), I finally got a place in the country. Its mostly woods and hills so I have little plots wherever its not too steep and theres a little topsoil. My tastes are variable but I like vegetable gardening--always something new each year--fruit trees, medicinal herbs, woodland natives, and hardy bamboo.
