Hi My name is Sue. I have a husband, a twelve year old son & a dog. I am also one of eight children.
I was never really into gardening as a kid, but my mother always tried to get one of us to help her. Now that I have a house & yard of my own, I decided it look naked without any flowers.
Now that my mother has passed away, it seems we all have gotten into gardening as a tribute to her. I find myself looking to plant all of the flowers she liked.
It just so happens that I now live a block away from my parents house. Although the yard had changed some since my mothers passage, I can sneak over from time to time & see if any of her flowers are still there & try to sneak them out under my fathers nose.
I do have a peony that was my grandfathers (moms dad) that has become one of my very favorite plants. Its the only white one in a bed of fuchsias. It almost makes me cry every time I see it.
I know Ill never get to be the gardener my mother was, (who else would grow pumpkins & squash hanging from an apple tree)but Im really going to try.
