Born in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains with generations of roots in this area. SC Master Gardener (2001) and Upstate SC Master Naturalist (2007). Garden writer for The Greenville News from April 2008 through June 2009. I'm one of the consultants for the Greenville Organic Food Organization community garden and I also work with several other gardens in the upstate, including my own. My backyard growing endeavors have been large enough at times to allow for selling extra produce at Greenville, SC's downtown farmer's market. Sustainability is a passion of mine and I also run the Greenville, SC chapter of Green Drinks International which hosts a monthly speaker on a green topic and averages about 30 attendees per meeting.
