I am a beginner gardener but am doing pretty well according to my husband, Matthew. I had a gardenful of plants but then we had to move last year. I had to uproot all my plants because owner wanted no part of them and so I took great care in potting them up. It took three full truckloads in order to transfer. When I did, it was only to find that the soil here was impossible to plant. I cant dig and inch without hitting rock. I still dug and took rocks out and, after very frustrating digging and trying to amend the soil, I finally planted all of my plants back. I did all this only to find that out of three truckloads only 1/8 of a truckload made it. The rest didnt like the soil. Caliche practically. Anyway, Im starting ALL over only this time Im using the Lasagna gardening technique and the rest I built containers for them. So any plants are welcomed. This year Im concentrating on Herbs and Perennials. Hopefully by next year Ill have more seeds to trade. Besides I get great help from my DH and Furball, our cat of 3 years. He likes to help me in the garden digging up and playing Jungle Peek-a-boo. I suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and I have only 6 good days out of a month at most. I do however, get all my trades out on time and ALWAYS in bubble envelope or Priority Mail box WITH Delivery Confirmation so that we can re-route it if it should get lost. I ask for the same courtesy in return when trading with me MINUS the Delivery Confirmation of course. That is totally up to you. Im happy to still be here though. Thank-you.
