I became addicted to gardening when my youngest graduated from HS. "What, no more ballgames, no stock shows, no concession stands or fundraisers? What shall I do?" First, it was clean up the yard and plant a few flowers. Next, a little garden "junk" and a small pond (100 gal). Now, 4 years later, it has now evolved into a garden paradise with over 1000 plants, patios, walks, gazebos, and a 1600 gal pond. And this is only in my backyard. I've got even bigger plans for the front. Guess you could say I'm hooked!!
