I finally did it! I removed the grass from my front yard and have finally completely covered the area with an application of "lasagna" layers which I hope will improve the soil and create some dimension in my flat yard. I have unearthed a fairly large quantity of good size rocks that were dumped under my 50 year-old laurel in the alley so I purchased a hand cart (dolly) to transport them to the front yard....now I need inspiration! I have purchased about 40 plants and already have existing foundation beds of drought tolerant plants, ie: sage, lavender, thyme, sedum as I live in one of the few "banana" belts in Western Washington. My front yard is southern exposure and plants can really cook so the Mediterraneum look is very attractive. I also my many old established roses.
I need help designing a natural enviornment using the rocks and am anxious to plant. I want many paths (for access to the plants) but do not want to use any edging. I want a very natural organic look. I love your website and am excited about joining today. Thank you all!
