Hi! I'm a Midwesterner transplanted into New York City. I don't have a terrace or rooftop garden, so I've been getting my gardening fix by experimenting with houseplants. I've got a 31st floor corner apartment with walls of windows to the East and South, flooding my home with light. My ficus, ivys and begonia absolutely adore being bathed in sunlight for most of the day, but some of the other members of my green family are less enthusiastic. If anything, though, I have a problem with my plants growing too fast and getting too big. My typical Manhattan apartment isn't exactly spacious, so the plants need to stay in their places! I'd love to talk with other Manhattanites and share ideas.
