I love tomatoes and the neat varieties they come in. Thats probably the real reason I stopped wandering and bought a house--so I could finally eat some good ones! I cant bear to thin, and my family bought plants when they shouldnt have, so in 2005 I planted 75 tomato plants in my yard! Luckily I have a lot of neighbors who like tomatoes :). It also gave me a name for my humble little home: The Tomato Ranch.

For 2006, I said I would plant fewer tomato plants. But...Id just discovered the Seed Exchange! Its perfectly reasonable to plant 2 of each...but that meant over 100 plants! My backyard fence had to move to the front of the house!

2007: Ive been good! Im growing fewer than 100 plants, although thats because Im only growing one of most of the varieties. That meant that a couple of them died on me, and I have no spares :( . Next year, maybe I will do 2 of each, and double-plant (Black Krim in the same hole as Green Zebra, then the other Black Krim in the same hole as Persimmon, etc.)
