I'm a wife to a DH, a mom of a 2-year old DS and a finance professor. The stress from my PhD program was driving me and my DH crazy! He encouraged me to re-connect with my sewing hobby and bought me a wonderful new sewing and embroidery machine and serger. I now sew daily. It's wonderful therapy. In fact, I now make all of my son's clothes! We recently moved to up-state New York where I have been busy making all of our window coverings, table coverings and quilts. Gosh, maybe if my husband had bought me the new machines sooner, I would have skipped the PhD altogether! :-)
