I am a soapmaker (melt & pour only so far), in Hastings, England. I make soaps, bathbombs, lotions, potions and anything that I fancy doing!

I'm useless at recipes so end up experimenting. Recently I discovered just how brown jasmine flowers go after one month in soap... after giving a beautiful bar to a friend, who liked it so much she kept it in her bathroom and didn't use it... oops...

My other recent major error was adding beeswax to soap to see what it did... I was aiming for a nice natural yellow colour.... and ended up with a solid but incredibly waxy mess... still never mind, my husband uses it to clean his hands after mending the car!

I have a toddler who adores 'assisting' and several cats who usually add their own input... namely sitting on warm soap loaves if I forget to cover them.... cat fur soap anyone?

The reason for joining this forum is to meet other soapers and share ideas.
