I am starting my third summer with a very large yard. I left my native Colorado to get away from farmers and found the only man in Massachusets who wanted to can tomatoes and make grape jelley and rhubarb preserves.

We have been taking our huge yard that was neglected for over 6 years by the previous owners and have been cutting back overgrown plants, trying to discern what is what and ripping out a million evergreen shrubs.

I have replaced most of those shrubs w/ "English-style garden" not enough sun for me to get any good fox glove growth, larkspur, or delphiniums which I think I have to have in the front.

In addiition I have fallen in love w/ hydrangeas, and have Nikko Blue and Bluebird currently. I am waiting for Mahoney's Garden Center in Winchester to get in another delivery of Endless Summer. I am very interested to see how other's have incorporated hydrangeas into their landscape.

I also love roses, climbing ones especially, peonies, and any vine that smells pretty (Honesuckle, Clemantis)... I also have a climbing hydrangea.

We had a horrible winter and out of 40 blulbs that I planted I would say maybe a dozen bloomed.

I live in: United States

My zone is: z6 MA

My favorite forum 1 is Hydrangea.
