I live in South Central Kentucky and have red clay soil. I am slowly but surely landscaping around my house with a combination of shrubs, perennials, and annuals. Still working on getting more color on the north side - I refuse to plant hostas after a major battle with slugs. My favorite flower is the tulip - but can't seem to get any to last more than one year even with amending the soil. I recently discovered the gardenweb forums (summer, 2001) and am quickly getting addicted.
