Hi, How are you doing? What's growing in your garden?

This summer (04), I have a flower and veggie garden. In the flower garden, there are rose bushes, cypress and moonflower vines, clematis, snapdragons, glads, foxglove, verbena, zinnia, echinacea, shasta gerber and african daisies, black-eyed susans, lavendar, catnip, hyssop and some kitchen herbs. Recently, my kids planted a couple pumpkins that will mature around the beginning of October. Next year, I plan to use the flower bed to include edibles like scarlet runner beans and sunchokes.

My veggie garden is small, so small that I've started planting in buckets and tubs. This summer in the bed, there's cantaloupe, corn, climbing limas, chickpea (only one plant made it), lentils (which are always on the brink of death so I'll probably yank those soon), edamame, cukes, toms, summer squash and okra. In containers, I've got Japanese cukes, acorn and burgess squash, edamame, toms and radishes.

I'd love to know what's growing in your garden. Edibles that do well in the hot and humid south interest me as well as fairly carefree colorful and/or fragrant flowers.

Take care and happy growing!
Sandy
