I have lived in Florida for the past 13 years. Even before moving here (from Michigan... zone 5), I loved tropical plants and flowers. Growing them isn't as easy as growing just about anything up north, but with each passing year, I find I'm getting better at it. I love landscaping, container gardening, home (and yard) decor, and cooking! This year (Spring 2013) I am going to try growing vegetables for the first time ever. I suspect I'll be feeding the bugs and squirrels until I know what I'm doing, but it just seems silly not to try it. But, being me, my veggie bed is going to be 'pretty.' Just in case I get nothing else out of it.
