I live in inland Southern California and have been gardening in the backyard for about ten years. I try to be strictly organic with any crops that are grown for food production. Not quite as stringent for container or ornamental plants. I regularly attend the UCR Botanic Garden plant sale every spring and fall. I maintain a bio-stack compost pile and make my own compost teas using a big tub and a bubbler device. I try to stick to native plants for my landscaping, and at the very least I make sure they are water efficient. I've been lurking on this site for a while, and finally decided to take the plunge!
