I love gardening. Myfavorite plant to collect is Daylilies. Because we live in a wooded area, one of my favorite areas of gardening is now shade gardening. Since I also love lots of color, I am currently working at hybridizing Daylilies that will bloom well and increase shady areas. Some of my current favorite plants to collect are Rhododendrons, Camellias, Daylilies, Pacific Coast Iris, Clematis, Hardy Geraniums, Brunnera, Astilbes, Violets, Primrose species, Variegated Hostas, Woodland Phlox, true blue flowers and rare or choice woodland plants. I am trying to start a collection of newer reblooming Tall Bearded Iris. Plants that I have large collections of to trade for Reblooming Iris, and new, rare or unusual shade plants are: Heucheras, Hardy Geraniums, Hostas, Shade Perennials, Siberian Iris, species Iris, Antique Roses, Daylilies, etc.

At this time I am particularly looking for variegated Brunneras, blue Pulmonarias, red Astilbes, ferns, Violets, variegated yellow/green Hostas, yellow leaf hostas with unique leaf textire, Lily of the Valley, Delphiniums, Kirengoshima, yellow Disporaum, Gentians, Soldanellas, Mimulus, yellow wood poppy, ruffled pansies, double Hepaticas, unusual, rare or choice woodland plants, anything with blue flowers for shade.

I also have many varieties of rare seeds including many Penstemons and California natives.

At this time I am only able to do large trades of at least 4 plants, prefer more, unless they are rare or newer shade plant varieties such as variegated Brunnera. I am also particularly looking for modern formed ruffled Iris with bud counts of at least 12 that are extra vigorous.

Although I am in zone 7 we are at a high elevation and our season is short and bloom time more resembles zone 4 climates. Most of my plants are hardy to at least zone 6 and usually to zone 4.

My education background is Botany/Ornamental Horticulture/Plant Genetics from UC Davis.

Would love to meet other high elevation So. California gardeners.

I live in: United States

My zone is: short season 7

My favorite forum 1 is Woodlands.

My favorite forum 2 is Perennials.
