I had a wonderful childhood watching my grandmother "work" in her garden. I would spend 1 - 2 weeks per summer absorbing all her care and knowledge of plants. I was a bonified city girl that soon had country dirt running through her veins! Now I understand why we had to "holler" our special call and wait for an echo to locate my grandmother! In the house? NEVER! Out in the garden? MOST CERTAINLY!
Now my own children(twins)know when they wake up in the spring, they will find me outside. And yes, it may be at 5:00 AM, hence the name.

I just completed my 23rd year of employment within our school system. I have 7 to go before retirement and I will be a full time planter!!
