Seems like no matter how much compost I make, its never enough. I like to use organic methods, but will fall off the wagon now and then, especially for the fire ants.

I have three grown daughters, DD#1 works at UC Davis California, DD#2 is in the Navy currently serving on board the USS Ronald Reagan, and DD#3 is in the Army, stationed in El Paso, Texas.

Roses are my favorites, but I have collected several hydrangeas too. I find that with the intense summer heat that all the garden beds go to pot from mid-June to mid-September. When the weather finally starts to cool off a little, then I can get out there and clean up all the stuff thats taken over my poor flowers.

My newest project is to enhance my native wildflowers with some varieties that have disappeared. It has been more difficult than I had anticipated with the soil being very hard and the site is on a slope.
