I am a lifelong Northwesterner, born in Portland and now living on Vashon Island near Seattle, but have an abiding love of tropical and subtropical plants and consider myself the Queen of (Zonal) Denial. My garden is a wild mix of rhododendons, jasmine and brugmansias, with potted citrus and bougainvilleas visiting outdoors during the summer. I am an attorney. My husband is an architect who designed and built our house and is learning to appreciate the plants (love me, love my passion vine, even if it threatens to entwine our cats while they sleep) He is building me a greenhouse because there is no more space in our living room for the orchids!
