I now live in southwestern NY,I love gardening, used to have fairly large gardens, but my soil is very poor shallow topsoil over yellow clay, with more flat stones than soil, that are rough on my Troy-bilt. Last year I went to two small 5'x10'x14" high raised gardens filled with worm dirt,compost,20yr old composted manure, and soil. Wow! what results. I have to limit myself to crops that don't wander, or take up much space, but it's well worth it. Still grow summer squash in the old spot. I will be 72 next March so this setup works out good.
