Around this old house on a city lot, i usually grow heirloom tomatoes, salad greens, veggies, herbs, and flowering vines. Have 1910 landscape plantings of shrubs, vines and trees which provide a nice supply of old timey seeds to share.

Since in a hot zone gardening area, put in pond and several barrel ponds for cooling, they often have an over-abundance foliage, fish and lilies to share.

This little totally organic ecosystem surprises you everyday with all the natural life that it supports - birds, butterflies, lizards, geckos, toads, worms, bees, ladybugs, fireflies, dragonflies, garden snakes and of course those pesky squirrels.
