Hi, Some of my friends call me "Dirt" for short. I have been gardening for nearly half a century. First as child labor, when we could earn a long swim in the lake by weeding a row of garden, and as an adult who learned that gardening is its own reward. I have a very small vegetable garden and lots of flowers; both perennials and annuals.I am not the best planner so I occasionaly dig everything up and shuffle it around a bit trying to achieve the perfect design. Since I have been thinking about trying something new, I know that I haven't yet found the perfect design. I do garden tasks all very slowly, because I want it to last a long time(?) or because I am slow! I have a son and daughter - both grown - and a husband (except for the "little boy" in him he has been grown up a very long time.) We have a guard cat, and live in a rural area. My worst enemies are the rabbits who live below the evergreens
and come out to nibble in the early morning and the evening hours. I am not nearly as upset when they eat lettuce as I am when they eat the tops off the liatris, so you see where my priorities lie. I hope that someday someone will contact me but I have the strangest feeling that no one will ever even read this.
