I am putting together a backyard from scratch. The first of a few problems: The house is rented. I have to be very frugal, because I don't want to put in a beautiful yard for free for our landlord! I am currently working on a shaded area under a big Pistache tree. I have already planted a "grove" of mixed color hollyhocks, red daylilies, a dark pink hydrangea & a shima nishiki tree peony. All are doing very well.
