My first garden was started before I entered Kindergarden. I went to my uncles farm and decided that I wanted to be a farmer. So I got a shovel out and jumped up on the shovel with both feet and started turning over the earth on the north side of my familys storage shed. When my father got home from work he was not pleased to find his preschooler digging up his yard. The garden was 4' by 8'. Each year I expanded it by at least a foot all the way around. Then when I was old enough to read I found out my garden was in the worst possible location. After much debate my father let me move it to a better location. Where I continued to enlarge it each year until it was about 12x20.

My first run in with worms was when my mischeaveos neighbor convinced me that it would be a good thing to collect a pocketful of worms and put them in a little girls desk in our first grade class. I still remember her quivering voice to the teach "Som one put whoorms im mi desk". Our teacher made the whole class put their heads on the desk and wasn't going to let us go to recess or eat lunch until someone fessed up. I was ready to hold out and never say a word, but my buddy he looooved food and this was far to much for him to take. We were sent the playground to get rid of the worms, where we met Mrs K the play ground monitor. She was very big and mean. She yelled at booth of us to the point of tears, as we explained we were told to bring the worms outside.
