My love of gardening stems from my Aunt Ruth, who I am named for, appropriately. She helped establish and maintain the award winning Lake Mohonk Mountain House (NY) gardens for over 50 years, and these served as my childhood inspiration for gardening. Though Im gardening on a less grand scale (with just 1/3 acre), I am hoping to convert my home with very little garden into a natural oasis. Having always lived on the east coast, I am enjoying the new challenges and possibilities of gardening in the pacific northwest.
