I live in an area where my house is surrounded by woods. I have a huge back yard which was lawn when I moved in. It is a blank slate, and I am looking for landscaping ideas. I would like to change the terrain from flat to a few hills here and there with some big boulders. I would also like to plant bushes, shrubs, and flowers which will be compatible with the ample wild life which frequents my yard including deer, woodchucks, skunks, and wild turkeys. I also want to attract bees, birds, and butterflys. I consider a small pond, but can't quite conceptualize it. I love trees, and have planted hundreds of firs, spruces, and tamaracks which are not indigenous to this area, but seem happy here anyhow. I get great pleasure running into them and seeing their progress on my rambles through the woods. Any ideas for the yard?
