I started with a giant lawn 6 years ago, with a layer of clay and quartz pebbles about 6-10 inches below the topsoil. Now [many bags of Leafgro later] there are brick-bordered beds of lavender, native plants, and assorted rhodys/azaleas. Asters, a yellowwood tree, all kinds of things....
