Im a new gardener, after years in apartments. Ive just (Aug. 2004) bought a 1/2-acre yard with house in Riverdale Park, PG County, Maryland, and am happily planning a mixed-fruit orchard. Ive been an enthusiastic armchair gardener for years, now I have to learn to actually GARDEN -- LOL!

Im excitedly learning about antique apples, heirloom tomatoes & veggies, and native Eastern American food plants.

Im interested in food security, crop diversity, indigenous food systems, permaculture, sustainable subsistence, all that kind of thing....
