Born and raised in the desert, re-learning the art of dirt in the foggy, shady redwoods of the Santa Cruz mountains. I grow roses, some bulbs, camellias, rhodos, hydrangeas, and a lot of japanese foliage plants. Still experimenting with the shade cottage garden and the voracious but charming (addicted to cilantro) banana slugs.
