I have a green thumb I only discovered about 15 years ago. And I have to admit I am not very scientific in my gardening, but boy do I have lots of beautiful stuff. In addition to the green thumb I have some very dirty fingernails right now. It is very difficult for me to remember to keep my gloves on. Suggestions anyone? Maybe I need those elastic things they put on babies mittens.

I discovered E-Bay seed auctions just a few months ago and went CRAZY. What fun. I found great buys on bulk more common seeds and some really unusual seeds as well.

I've always had hostas, but have a large shady area and couldn't resist when I saw hosta seeds for sale. I asked before bidding and was told growing them from seed is easy. That is how I found you guys. The web site I was given for instructions doesn't exist any more. At least I can't find it.

I'm a boomer, will retire in 18 months and I have about an acre of gardens as well as ponds, waterfalls, koi and other fish. I also have two very active two year old male Australian Shepherds and a very sedentary cat. Having gardens and dogs is a challenge, sometimes things just get mashed or broken or they drag off my tools or gloves. On weedends I will spend 12 hours in the yard and never get tired. We'll see if I can keep that up when I am retired.

I manage political campaigns as a second hobby (let's not talk about which party). I guess you might say that is my way of participating in the process. I got started in school board politics when my daughter (now 19) started school and the hobby just grew from there. Education and childrens issues are really of greatest importance to me. My greatest hope is that I never have to serve in public office myself.

My yard is famous as a great place for fund raisers and I do several of those every year. My husband calls me the Pearl Mesta (she was quite the Washington DC hostess) of Wichita. I just give good parties with lost of interesting people in attendance.

I live in: United States

My zone is: Z6KS
