Well..a bit of bio..I am a commercial plant propagator (member of International Plant Propagators Society..'88 to '96 while working in N.Z.)
Started serious plant production about 1978 when I moved to Lismore in Nth N.S.W. I became quite active in "green politics" with the successful battles to save Terania Creek and The Nightcap. Was Secretary of Richmond Valley Reforestaion Association in early '80s as well as Secretary of Council of Reforestation Associations.
I was lucky enough to be offered a position in N.Z. to establish a wholesale plant production nursery (N.Z. natives). Spent 9 years in Enzed learning as much as I could about kiwi flora and prop techiques of such.
Returned to Aust in 97 and took up a position in wholesale nursery in S.E. Qld to establish a new propagation department.
My main experience has been with subtropical natives, N.Z. trees, shrubs and grasses and in last 6-7 years tropical plants (exotic & native). I dont think I know a lot about one area BUT do know a LITTLE about a lot of areas..botanically speaking. I am now taking on the task of educating myself about native plants of the arid zones of Australia.
I had the honour of privately meeting Richard St Barbe-Baker (Men of the Trees) about 30 years ago and that short 20 minutes of chat, cast in stone, my environmental outlook on life.
Thats about all...other stuff is boring and irrelevent. lol
