I am interested in growing native Alaska plants and/or plants that produce food. My young son thinks it is great he can eat berries off the Saskatoon Berry bush in the back yard. Next year I hope to plant raspberries and start a compost pile in the ten foot utility easement behind our lot.
We live in Anchorage. Our lot has several inches of top soil over gray clay. We have many trees lining both sides of our large back yard. Moose are an occasional problem. Slugs from my neighbors yard are migrating into my yard.
